Honoring the legacy of Sardar Kuldeep Singh

May 27, 2026

We honor the enduring legacy of Sardar Kuldeep Singh, who returned to Akal Purakh on May 27, 2026. A visionary leader and dedicated sewadar, his lifelong devotion to building and nurturing Panthic institutions will continue to inspire generations of Sikhs globally.

Throughout his life, Sardar Kuldeep Singh worked tirelessly to ensure that American and Canadian Sikhs could confidently understand, live, and practice the tenets of the Sikh faith, rooted in the teachings of the Holy scripture of Guru Granth Sahib.

His extraordinary leadership spanned multiple decades, from his early years to serving as the long-time President of the Sikh Youth Alliance of North America (SYANA) and the Founding Chairperson of the World Sikh Council – America Region. His pioneering efforts laid the foundation for essential organizations, inspiring Sikh Gurmat Camps, the annual International Sikh Youth Symposium, and bridging communities through interfaith and intra-faith dialogues as a trustee for SCIR. His quiet strength, devotion, and selfless service leave behind a beautiful legacy of active, engaged youth and a united community.

We offer our heartfelt prayers for Sukh (comfort and peace) to his family, relatives, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of crossing paths with him.

Simultaneously, we send our deepest thoughts and prayers for a full and complete recovery to his wife, who was injured in the same tragic accident.

May Akal Purakh bless the departed soul and give the community strength to carry forward his noble work.

Islamic Center Shooting, San Diego

May 18, 2026

SCIR is saddened by the attack at the Islamic Center in San Diego. This Islamic Center holds prayers for its community members and has a school facility for children.

Their mission, as stated on their website, is  “work with the larger community to serve the less fortunate, to educate, and to better our nation.”

Places of worship are sacred sanctuaries and should be safe places. It is horrible to witness that a place made to honor and show devotion to our Creator becomes a target for destruction and violence. SCIR offers prayers for a better understanding of what we have in common and solace to those impacted by this act.

Sikh Religion through AI CHAT BOTS

Sikh GPT is an inauthentic source of Sikh Baani, and it propagates misrepresentation of the Sikh faith. We stress that anyone looking to learn or understand Sikh Gurbani should not consider anything generated by Sikh GPT or any other AI-generated content to be a valid or legitimate source.

UNITED SIKHS (UK), tested “Sikh GPT” and found it produced fabricated lines presented as Gurbani. The tests also revealed serious errors in spelling, page references (Angs), and theological context, making it unreliable for religious guidance and research. Both The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) and UNITED SIKHS (UK) have raised alarms that such AI tools are disseminating misinformation, misrepresenting Sikh figures, and functioning as “informal religious authorities” without oversight.

A prayer of Lament, Hope, and Peace for Our World

May 7, 2026.

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

Waheguru, our one Universal Creator and Divine Mother and Father — in Your grace alone we find true peace. We come before You with humble hearts, praying that You lift the pain and suffering of this world.

ਜਗਤੁ ਜਲੰਦਾ ਰੱਖ ਲੈ ਆਪਣੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰ

Our world is consumed by hatred, bigotry, and oppression, as we turn away from the hungry, the displaced, and the forgotten.

We have forgotten we are all your children, and we ignore that your same Divine light dwells in all of us.

Waheguru, grant us the grace to see all humanity as one family — to recognize Your light in every soul, to treat all as equals, and to live together in peace, harmony, and love.

May peace prevail in every heart, in every home, and across our entire world. May the hatred in the world melt away in Your boundless and everlasting love. And living in Your Will, may the entire world find peace, harmony and serenity.

Nanak, Naam Charhdi Kala, Tere Bhaane Sarbat Da Bhala

“O Nanak, through Naam, the Name the One Universal Divine, comes ever-rising spirits; by Your Will, may there be well-being for all.”

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh
